Welcome back to Section X,
I’m thrilled to let you know that I’ll be releasing a novella at the end of September, called The Thief & The Phantom – and it’ll be free to anyone who signs up to my website – more on that later in the post.
‘What’s a novella?!’ I hear you cry… well, it’s what an author calls a short story when he’s gone on waaaaaay too long – but’s it’s not as long as a proper book… that.
Phantom is an action-packed origin story of Section X and The Sutter Clock – so if you’ve read Operation Hurricane and you need something to keep you going until Boyd #2 comes out, then this fits the bill nicely! It also features some characters that may pop up in Boyd #2, and it really delves into the universe of Section X and The Trinity Guild... so don't miss it!
Here’s a full synopsis of The Thief & The Phantom…
The battle for time begins in 1942 - with new heroes… This is the origin of Section X – a novella from the universe of The Evan Boyd Adventures!
Charlie is just a schoolboy thief going about his business when he makes an enemy of the most feared gangster in London. When Charlie is forced to help the gang hunt a notorious criminal, known as The Phantom; he realises he's in way over his head.
But who is the mysterious organisation watching his every move? And why are they convinced he can lead them to a top-secret machine that could change the course of World War II?
Charlie has no clue that he’s linked to a highly classified department in British Intelligence and this one night will set events in motion that will change the future of the world… he’s going to need some help if he’s going to make it out of this in one piece.
I'm giving Phantom away for free to anyone who signs up for my website - because you lot have completely blown me away with your response to Hurricane. The sales and the lovely messages have been beyond what I could have imagined, and I can’t tell you how grateful I am for that.
So, there you have it, a 20,000-word Section X adventure and it’s coming soon. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I loved writing it.
Sign up now, if you haven’t already, as very soon I’ll be sending out some Behind The Scenes bits and pieces about how Phantom came together.
Until then, happy reading!
